गणपति स्तोत्र का अर्थ
संकटनाशनगणेशस्तोत्रम् को गणपति स्तोत्र के नाम से भी जाना जाता है। इसमें अनुष्टुप् छन्द पर आधारित ८ श्लोक हैं, जिनमें भगवान् श्री गणेश के बारह नाम और इस स्तोत्र का माहात्म्य बताया गया है। नारद पुराण में इसका उल्लेख है। देवर्षि नारद द्वारा कहा गया यह स्तोत्र बहुत ही सरल और प्रभावशाली है। इसे थोड़े-से अभ्यास द्वारा बड़ी सरलता से पढ़ा जा सकता है। यू ट्यूब पर अनेक गायकों की आवाज़ में इसके वीडियो उपलब्ध हैं, जिसे सुनकर इसे आत्मसात् किया जा सकता है।
इसके पाठ से सारे विघ्नों का नाश हो जाता है, इसी कारण इसे सर्व सिद्धिदायी माना जाता है। इसे छः माह या एक वर्ष तक मन जो कामना रखकर पाठ किया जाये, वह कामना भगवान् श्री गणेश पूर्ण करते हैं। विद्या की कामना रखनेवाला विद्या, धन की कामना रखनेवाला धन, पुत्र की कामना रखनेवाला पुत्र और मोक्ष की कामना रखनेवाला मोक्ष प्राप्त कर लेता है, ऐसा इस स्तोत्र के अन्तर्गत इसका माहात्म्य-उल्लेख है।
ऐसा नहीं है कि यह स्तोत्र केवल गणेश भक्तों के लिये है। भगवान् श्री गणेश बुद्धि और विद्या के स्वामी हैं, विघ्नहर्ता हैं। हर व्यक्ति चाहता है कि वह बुद्धिमान हो, विद्यावान और उसके जीवन में कोई विघ्न बाधा न आये। इसलिये जीवन में ऐसी कामना रखनेवाले हर व्यक्ति को यह स्तोत्र याद कर लेना चाहिये।
कहा जाता है कि किसी भी स्तोत्र या मन्त्र को अर्थ समझकर पढ़ा जाये अथवा जप किया जाये तो वह अधिक फलदायी माना जाता है। तो आइये,

पार्वती नन्दन देवों के देव श्री गणेशजी को शीश झुकाकर प्रणाम करें और फिर अपनी आयु, कामना और अर्थ सिद्धि के लिये उन भक्तनिवास का नित्यप्रति स्मरण करें।
❑➧प्रथमं वक्रतुण्डं च एकदन्तं द्वितीयकम्।
तृतीयं कृष्णपिङ्गाक्षं गजवक्त्रं चतुर्थकम्।।२।।
❑अर्थ➠पहला वक्रतुण्ड (टेढे़ मुखवाले), दूसरा एकदन्त (एक दाँतवाले), तीसरा कृष्ण पिंगाक्ष (काली और भूरी आँखोंवाले), चौथा गजवक्त्र (हाथी जैसे मुखवाले)
❑➧लम्बोदरं पञ्चमं च षष्ठं विकटमेव च।
सप्तमं विघ्नराजं च धूम्रवर्णं तथाष्टमम्।।३।।
❑अर्थ➠पाँचवाँ लम्बोदर (बड़े पेटवाले), छठा विकट (विकराल), सातवाँ विघ्न राजेन्द्र (विघ्नों पर शासन करनेवाले राजाधिराज) तथा आठवाँ धूम्रवर्ण (धूसर अर्थात् धुएँ जैसे वर्णवाले)
❑➧नवमं भालचन्द्रं च दशमं तु विनायकम्।
एकादशं गणपतिं द्वादशं तु गजाननम्।।४।।
❑अर्थ➠नौवाँ भालचन्द्र (जिनके ललाट पर चन्द्रमा सुशोभित है), दसवाँ विनायक (नेतृत्व करनेवाले), ग्यारहवाँ गणपति (भक्तगणों के स्वामी) और बारहवाँ गजानन (हाथी जैसे मुखवाले)
❑➧द्वादशैतानि नामानि त्रिसन्ध्यं यः पठेन्नरः।
न च विघ्नभयं तस्य सर्वसिद्धिकरं प्रभो।।५।।
❑अर्थ➠इन बारह नाम का जो पुरुष (प्रातः, दोपहर और सायंकाल) तीनों सन्ध्याओं में पाठ करता है, हे प्रभो! उसे किसी प्रकार के विघ्न का भय नहीं रहता; इस प्रकार का स्मरण हर प्रकार की सिद्धियाँ देनेवाला है।

पुत्रार्थी लभते पुत्रान्मोक्षार्थी लभते गतिम्।।६।।
❑अर्थ➠इसके पाठ से विद्यार्थी विद्या, धन की इच्छा रखनेवाला धन, पुत्र की कामना रखनेवाला पुत्र तथा मुमुक्षु (मुक्ति की इच्छावाला) मोक्षगति प्राप्त कर लेता है।
❑➧जपेद्गणपतिस्तोत्रं षड्भिर्मासैः फलं लभेत्।
संवत्सरेण सिद्धिं च लभते नात्र संशयः।।७।।
❑अर्थ➠इस गणपति स्तोत्र का जप करें तो छ: मास में इच्छित फल की प्राप्ति होती है तथा एक वर्ष में पूर्ण सिद्धि प्राप्त हो जाती है, इसमें किसी प्रकार का सन्देह नहीं है।
❑➧अष्टभ्यो ब्राह्मणेभ्यश्च लिखित्वा यः समर्पयेत्।
तस्य विद्या भवेत्सर्वा गणेशस्य प्रसादतः।।८।।
